Beautiful way to end our 3 weeks in France (2 weeks river cruising, 4 nights in Paris). Not a good way to start a trip to Paris; they give you a card with identifying markers, but if you aren't already a little familiar with the city you won't recogize them, and they didn't bother our romantic anniversary dinner with loud commentary. Be sure to understand where your table will be (way in front $$$, along the window on sides $$, or in the middle $). We were seated near the front in the middle, which was fine since they turn around and head back so whatever you didn't see traveling up river you see on the way back. Staff was great, food choices and taste was wonderful. Expensive but memorable. Don't waste it taking pictures; sit back and enjoy the City of Lights.

Someone needs to police the taxis service after the boat tour. We were asked to pay 45 euros for a taxi back to our hotel, exactly the same journey that cost 16 euros, we eventually tried another taxi and agreed to pay 25 euros. When we got to our hotel I questioned our taxi driver why we had to pay 25 euros for a 16 euro ride , I offered him 20 euros instead of 25 and he said I give you a free ride, we got out, he drove off. Bizarre outcome. Be warned, try several taxis, there are dozens of them happy to take you and your money.

Let me start by saying that the views on the river are gorgeous and it is a great experience for couples. However, it is incredibly overpriced. We paid for the front section $500-ish and were treated to ok service and an over cooked steak. They didn’t have any alternatives for my pregnant wife whereas every other table receives a bottle with each course. I would say at most it’s a $75-$100 dinner for 2 people making it not worth an extra $400 for the ride on the river. Do yourself a favor and eat before hand then find a boat to cruise you, perhaps privately, for much much cheaper! Views 8/10 Food 4/10
