We reaaly enjoyed the tour and learned a lot about the Jewish background of Bucharest, as well as about the city itself. The guide, Marius was very interesting and full of knowledge and information athat he was willing to share. Very recommended, not only for Jews

Generally good save for one important thing

We had an enjoyable tour courtesy of the lovely Christina. We enjoyed the Temple theatre and speaking with our very intelligent and interesting guide. My only slight grumble is that the Jewish History Museum and the Great Synagogue would not let us in because we arrived too late. Christina would have known the closing times and we would have happily foregone the parts of the tour focusing on architecture in order to see these interesting sites.

Hi Jeremy, Thank you for your kind words. We are fully aware that the Holocaust Museum and the Jewish History Museum close really early on Sundays. Sometimes, these sites are also closed because of various holidays or private events. That said, they are stand-alone museums that can be visited separately on other days, and we cannot really influence or control their schedules. It's really difficult to work around their schedules, and still run these walking tours, but we are trying to do our best. Thanks, Marius & Cristina

Bucharest Jewish Trail walking Tour

Marius was our guide and he was very well informed. We had a small group so it was an intimate experience. It was very sad to see how rundown the areas we visited were. It would have been nice to be forwarned about the conditions that we would encounter that day.

Mario was a really good guide. he showed us all aspects of the Jewish past in Bucharest. We had a wonderful morning walking around all the sites and seeing old neighborhoods that used to have a vibrant active Jewish life. Mario also introduced us to great coffee shop where we rested and tasted the best coffee in Bucharest. We went back to that shop every day of our stay in Bucharest.

To say I enjoyed this walking tour would be an understatement. Marius was refreshingly honest and impressively knowledgeable about the history of Jewish life in Bucharest. He covered places of interest I would struggle to discover on my own and was happy to accommodate me as a solo traveler.
