Leave the bustle of the city behind on a countryside bike tour from Amsterdam. Your approximately 13.5- to 15-mile (22- to 25-kilometer) ride will take you the outskirts of the city and the countryside beyond, stopping along the way so your guide can share interesting anecdotes and background.

Your tour begins in central Amsterdam in the late morning, when your informative guide provides a brief introduction to Amsterdam’s history. Then, cycle through the bike-friendly city of Amsterdam, pedaling along narrow streets and canals and over beautiful bridges.

Slowly, your cityscape changes to tranquil pastures and peaceful waterways. Keep watch for colorful houseboats, as well as people fishing and rowing in the water.

At a local farmhouse, meet a farmer and enjoy some Dutch traditions: sample farm-produced cheese and watch a demonstration of how clogs are made. Stop at the iconic De Riekermolen windmill, one of only eight remaining authentic windmills in and around Amsterdam.

During your ride back to Amsterdam, cycle through some of the city’s parks including the lush Vondelpark, Amsterdam’s largest and most well-known park, and the woodland scenery of Amsterdamse Bos Park. Your tour ends in the afternoon.

Riding along

Our english guide was great and entertaining . We started in the city, went through the countryside. Stopped and met one out of the four wooden clog makers in the Netherland. Also his cheese making skills was also part of the tour. The Windmill was a great photo shoot. It was a 4 hour tour so be ready to pack a snack and a large bottle of water. But the tour was very scenic and beautiful.
Great time

My husband and I really enjoyed our bike trip with Sevv across the Netherlands countryside! Beautiful sights and delicious cheese. We are not expert bikers by any means and we found it very doable.

By far the best part of my trip to Amsterdam. The guides were great and super funny. The scenery was incredible and the route not so difficult. I definitely recommend this tour.

Great way to see the city and the countryside in one day!

We had so much fun on this tour!!! Our guide--Girl Mike--was fun and informative and had great energy! I am not very experienced or comfortable on a bike (have ridden one other time as an adult in Costa Rica) and was extremely nervous, especially riding in the city. You do have to be very alert and aware. If you have never ridden a bike this isn't the time to learn. If you are in very bad shape this might not be for you. I'm not going to lie--the first part where we were in the city was stressful for me. The rest of the group did just fine though and they were all very supportive. Once we got into the countryside it was just absolutely peaceful and beautiful! By the time we got back into the city I felt much more comfortable and didn't have any problems. The stop at the cheese farm is really interesting and we were able to pet some beautiful baby cows! The cheese was so yum and we each bought a wheel. Also checked off our windmill quota for the trip! The ride was long but we went at an easy pace that everyone could keep up regardless of fitness level (I wouldn't have minded a little more speed when we were in wide open spaces but that is what happens with a group tour). Overall I would definitely recommend this tour! It was an amazing way to spend half a day and a great opportunity to see some countryside without doing a full excursion. Plus experiencing Amsterdam like a local's perspective (aka from the seat of a bike) should be on everyone's list!
Very Nice

The bicycle ride was amazing! I got to pet a cow and try some amazing cheese. I mean, what else can you ask for? This has it all! Loved the clog building workshop demonstration.
Highlight of our visit to Amsterdam
, Aug 2019
Excellent! We were very well looked after, it was a thoughtful and informative tour, and we saw some uniquely Dutch things along the way. Full credit to Mike's bike shop and to our guide Mike (different person and gender!) for setting us up so well and providing a memorable day. It was fun all the way. Even a puncture in our party was dealt with efficiently and with good humour. The bikes are very good quality and easy to master in terms of gear changes. We covered some decent mileage, but it's not a tough ride and everyone in our group easily coped. The visit to the farm is certainly an experience....the farmer is a character! Any men in our party were safe in the knowledge that they wouldn't be dragged in for audience participation! This guy likes ladies, especially Asian ladies....but as our guide said to us in advance, he means well. What I would say is that this was billed as a 2-hour tour, but in fact it lasted over 4 hours. That's not at all a complaint - it made it even better value for money. But it's worth knowing this in case people are trying to plan other parts of their day. The tour detail also points out that the price doesn't include food and drinks. That's true. But it's worth pointing out that it is a good idea to bring your own water and snacks along. You need to be a vaguely competent bike rider. We felt safe throughout, but as you cycle through and out of the city you need to have some decent road sense and not be wobbly on your bike. Overall, an excellent experience....a lovely way to see Amsterdam and some of the surrounding countryside.
27-28 Km round trip

From the check in till the end of tour everything was very well organized. Patrick (tour guide) knows his job well. The farm visit could have been longer or more elaborate area wise, it was pretty small n not much to explore after the show n tell.
