With over 8,000 square meters of exhibition space devoted to German history, the German Historical Museum (Deutsches Historisches Museum) has been among Berlin’s most popular museums since it opened back in 1987. Since then, the vast permanent collection has grown to over 7,000 items, including rare manuscripts and official documents; fine art and sculptures; military uniforms, weapons and armory; posters and photographic images, and more.

The focal point of a visit is the fascinating permanent exhibition ‘German History in Pictures and Artifacts’ which opened in 2006 and offers a chronological look at German history from the Middle Ages to modern-day. Walking through the two floors of exhibitions, visitors can learn about the evolution of Germany’s borders and language, the First and Second World Wars, the Nazi Regime, the Cold War division of Germany and its later reunification.

Trace almost 800 years of history on this private, half-day walking tour of Berlin. Since its founding in the 13th century, Berlin has been the capital of an empire, the epicenter of a sexual and artistic revolution, a fascist dictatorship, torn in two and, finally, reunited. Delve into the German capital’s history with your own personal guide, checking off key sights such as Brandenburg Gate, Hitler’s Bunker (Führerbunker), and a section of the Berlin Wall along the way.

Private taxi tour through city east and west history and architecture approx 2h

Private taxi tour through city east and west history and architecture approx 2h

In contrast to bus tours, on an individual taxi sightseeing tour you have the opportunity to stop almost everywhere - be it for a photo shoot, be it for a snack or a break, be it for a coffee. Or for a longer tour to take a closer look at an object or to have it explained to you (Berlin Cathedral, Hackesche Höfe, Brandenburg Gate, Gendarmenmarkt, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, KaDeWe are recommended, for example). According to your interests and preferences! And in contrast to a tour, you don't just see a tiny section of our city, City East, the former center and City West, the former West Berlin! So combine the best of walking and bus tours in an Auto City Tour, just like I've always done privately with friends and relatives. And enjoy the luxury of being picked up personally from your accommodation in the S-Bahn-Ring. And all in a real Berlin luxury taxi SUV!

What is special is that you are driven around in your own comfort SUV by a local guide who has lived in Berlin for over 20 years. The personal touch, lots of information and anecdotes are guaranteed! You can also determine what interests you more, where you also want to get off or what you simply want to leave out! That is the big difference to the bus tour; quite apart from the fact that it cannot stop everywhere and each stop takes a lot of time. You also have the opportunity to see the entire City East, and not just a very small section of it, as on tours. Berlin is very extensive, has many other centers in addition to these two, and depending on your interests, we can take a stroll in the Hackesche Höfe or at the Wall Memorial. And enjoy the luxury of being picked up personally from your accommodation in the S-Bahn-Ring. And all in a real Berlin luxury taxi SUV!
